Software that works for you, and nobody else.
Entangled Labs is a small software company in Pennsylvania. We think technology should bring life back into balance, not tip it further. So we build and combine services into interfaces that are intuitive and meaningful, and that respect your time, your data, and your attention. The first one is Prism.
Our first app, out now for Windows
PRISM by Entangled
A free, open-source media player for Windows. Your streaming services in one place, a heads-up when you already have a title, and ads covered with nature and quiet.
What we believe
Your data and your attention are yours to sell.
Right now they're being stolen, legally, with the permission buried in endless terms and conditions. We build software that doesn't take either one.
No black boxes
We only build algorithms you can see.
A lot of what you see online is picked by an algorithm you can't see. It decides what shows up first, what gets buried, and what keeps you scrolling. You're never told why.
- The harm. Hidden rankings are tuned to keep you on the app, not to help you. They can nudge what you watch, buy, and believe.
- What we do instead. When our software picks or orders something for you, it tells you how, in plain words. The code is open for anyone to check.
- Why it matters to us. Your attention is yours. If we can't explain how something works, we don't ship it.
For example, Prism's Most read row counts daily page views on Wikipedia. That's the whole recipe, and Prism says so right on the screen.
Our promises to you
What these mean in practice- No ads.Not in our apps, not on our sites.
- No data theft. When we hold your data, it's yours. Export it or delete it.
- No data mining. We never sell it, profile you with it, or use it for ads.
- No attention mining. No tracking, no popups, no endless scrolling, no dopamine tricks. Nothing built to manipulate you.
- No endless subscriptions.Free stays free. If we go down, our software is still out there. If something costs money, you see the price up front and can stop paying anytime.
We're funded by the people who use what we make. If Prism helps you, you can help us keep going.
