Prism privacy policy

Nothing about you leaves your device unless you send a report, and a report contains only what the report screen shows you. Here is the whole story for Prism for Windows, the browser extensions, and the report tool.

Last updated September 26, 2026. The website itself has its own policy.

What Prism collects about you

Nothing. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, and no telemetry. Prism doesn't know who you are, and we can't see what you watch. That goes for children too: Prism collects nothing from anyone. Everything Prism keeps, it keeps on your own device: your settings, your layouts, which services you've signed in to, and your TMDB key if you added one.

Your streaming services

You sign in to each service on the service's own page, inside Prism. Prism never asks for, sees, or stores a password. What you watch, your lists, and your library come from those services straight to your device, and Prism doesn't send any of it anywhere. Each service's own privacy policy applies to what you do on it.

Incoming connections

Prism for Windows can be controlled from your phone as a remote. For that it listens on your home network, and the only connection it accepts is from a phone you paired by scanning a code shown on the Prism screen. Nothing connects to Prism from the internet, and we never connect to it. Pairing stays on your device, and you can remove a phone from Prism at any time.

Where your device gets information

Prism contacts each of these directly from your device. We are not in the middle and don't see the requests.

  • TMDB, for titles, pictures, ratings, and episode lists, using your own TMDB key. The key stays on your device and is sent to TMDB alone.
  • JustWatch, through TMDB, for which services carry a title.
  • Wikipedia and Wikidata, for how often a title's article is read, and for awards and dates.
  • prism.entangled.world, for the nature photos and, if you turn them on, the source-reliability lists. These requests carry no identifiers and no referrer, and nothing about the request is logged by us.
  • Open-Meteo, only if you set a weather location on the extension's start page.
  • A calendar feed or a radio link you paste in, only if you do, and only that address.

The browser extensions

The extensions run on every site so they can cover ads wherever they appear. To do that they read the page, in your browser, to find ads. They never send the page, its text, or its address anywhere. Popups a page tries to open on its own are intercepted in your browser and never loaded. The optional start page keeps its settings in your browser's local storage and nothing there ever leaves it.

The report tool

If Prism misses an ad or covers something that isn't one, you can send us a report from the extension or from Prism for Windows. Nothing is sent until you press Send, and you see the contents first. A report contains:

  • What happened: a missed ad or a wrong cover.
  • The website's name, and the page address up to its first 120 characters.
  • A description of the element: its tag, class names, size, its position in the page, the short labels around it, and the hostnames of links and media inside it. No article text, no titles of what you were watching, no form contents.
  • Which Prism rule placed the cover, if one did, and a few diagnostics about the page's video players, so we can reproduce the problem.
  • Your browser family and major version, and the Prism version.
  • A note, if you write one.

A report contains no account, no cookies, no name, and no email address. We don't know who sent it, and we can't reply to it. Reports are read by hand, used only to fix Prism's rules, and deleted when they're no longer needed. They are never sold or shared.

Where a report goes

Reports are sent to our report inbox at reports.entangled.world. The inbox runs on Fly.io, and reports are stored in Tigris, Fly's object storage. Like any server, the inbox sees your IP address when the report arrives. We don't store IP addresses with reports, and we limit reports per address only to stop abuse. We read reports with a script, by hand, and delete them when they're no longer needed.

Who else sees anything

The services above see the requests your device makes to them, under their own privacy policies. Fly.io and Tigris host the report inbox, and Cloudflare hosts this website and the nature photos. Each sees the IP address of what reaches it. Nobody else is involved. There are no partners, no advertisers, and no data brokers.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top. We won't quietly add tracking.
