Prism is free software under the GNU General Public License, version 3 or later. The code, the adapters, the extension, and the issue tracker are all on GitHub. Read it, build it, change it, share it.
How to build it
- The core. The shared brain is TypeScript. In the repo root, run
npm install, thennpm testandnpm run build. The tests include the golden fixtures every port has to match. - Prism for Windows. A WinUI 3 app on .NET 8 in
targets/win-host. Open it in Visual Studio 2022 with the Windows App SDK workload, or build it with the .NET 8 SDK. It needs the WebView2 runtime to run. - The extensions. One source folder,
prototypes/prism-veil-extension. Load it unpacked in Chrome or Edge from the extensions page with Developer mode on.node build-firefox.mjsin that folder builds the packages for Firefox and Chromium.
The repo's README and the docs folder have the details, including the spec every part of Prism follows.
How to contribute
- Start with an issue. Bugs, ideas, and adapter requests go on GitHub issues, where anyone can see them and follow along.
- Send a pull request. Keep it to one change, add or update the tests that cover it, and say what you measured. Detection rules need a fixture, because the fixture is the record of what was measured.
- Follow the rules about other people's services. Never handle credentials, never touch copy protection, page actions only, cover ads but never block them. They're in the third-party services policy, and a change that breaks one is rejected in review.
- Adapters are code too. They live in the same repo under the same license, so a new adapter is a pull request like any other.
